What type of wine is Margaret River known for?

The Margaret River wine region is known for producing some of Australia’s most elegant wines, especially its classically styled Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

The region has often been likened to Bordeaux, so it’s no surprise that Bordeaux blends Cabernet Merlot and Semillon Sauvignon are also hugely successful here.

With a 130 km coastline and surrounded by the ocean on three sides (where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean), it benefits from cooling winds and a pristine, pollution-free environment.
