The Zonte’s Footstep Lake Doctor Vineyard is situated on the shores of Lake Alexandrina in Langhorne Creek. Each summer afternoon, the house-cooling breeze of the ‘Lake Doctor’ arrives and revives vines and vignerons alike. Here, a tiny splash of Viognier added to Shiraz creates an aromatic, richly-flavoured red, full of lush fruit and gentle spice.

Its white wines are highly prized. Ocelli is a dazzling fresh white made from its second most popular grape variety - Chardonnay (Sauvignon is its most planted). Exceptional care in the cellar has ensured a wine with a terrific balance of ripe stone fruits - peach, apricot and a touch of guava – with the luscious creamy complexity of time in oak. Some of Australia’s finest and most expensive white wines come from the Adelaide Hills. Indeed, it’s “absolutely stuffed to the gills with winemaking royalty” (Max Allen, Crush). The cool growing conditions of the Adelaide Hills provide fruit of exceptional depth with great natural acidity. This in turn provides elegant, beautifully balanced wines with great structure. There’s no mistaking the quality. It’s obviously a sensational match to a fine piece of barbecued tuna. Aromatic citrus, gooseberry, and herbal aromas with a mouthwateringly crisp, pure palate. There’s a little bit of texture there as well.
