Their delightful Gold-winning, 92pt Bremerview Langhorne Creek Shiraz. It is "… bright and fresh…. Attractive price!... 92pts. Value Star" (James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion), and invites you in with aromas of plums and mulberries, as well as hints of milk chocolate and vanilla. Thistledown was started by friends Giles Cooke and Fergal TynanIn, who had met when studying for the Masters of Wine exams. In their fun-loving 92pt Thistledown Cloud Cuckoo Land, Italian varietals from the Riverland come together in harmony. A vibrant, textural white with hints of almond blossom, quince and ripe pear, it's tangy, almost exotic, but pithy and delicious. It makes a great aperitif – Ned Goodwin MW in The Halliday Wine Companion asks if it might be "the best in the country?".

This regional blend comprises selected parcels from both our Estate Watervale Riesling vineyards along with parcels from Auburn and Sevenhill." A delicious Riesling that's won Gold and 94pts. The Adaptaur is a tropically-adapted Bos taurus beef cattle breed which was developed in Australia in the 1950s from crosses between Herefords and Shorthorns. Like the bull, the Adaptaur Reserve Durif is the perfect example of careful selection, hailing from selected vineyards in South Australia. The result is a wine that has intensity, decadent and dark with rich flavours of plum and spicy black fruit. Earthy tannins are well balance. An obvious food wine that would do well with the heartiest beef meals.

They know the real deal is often found off the beaten track, and devote time to tracking down the genuine characters. French born, Ms S still reigns in Bordeaux, select Loire venues and on stages in Sauternes, but is now a world fashion icon. A superstar in New Zealand with performances of impact and intensity, she might appear elsewhere in tropical guise, or adopt a smoky mystique and the name 'Fumé'. She flirts with partners, but proudly sports her Ms title. Here in Adelaide Hills, she's chilled and relaxed, combining fresh tropical charm and chic, crisp elegance. Lovely passionfruit, lime and lemongrass aromas. Crisp and crunchy palate with tightly-wound, refreshing acidity. At the centre, a refined fruit core of peach, lemon and gooseberry made textural with slate-like minerality.
