Alpha Crucis Southern Cross McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022

Chalk Hill is a Five Red Star rated McLaren Vale winery and "The Alpha Crucis series is especially praiseworthy" as James Halliday comments. Sourced from several vineyards from 3x sub regions of McLaren Vale (Seaview, Blewitt Springs and Clarendon), resulting in complexity in blending. Each parcel was harvested and fermented separately. This fine Shiraz was given 95pts by Wine Pilot. "A vinous, vivacious, young McLaren Vale Shiraz. Fresh blueberries, black plums, pomegranate, rhubarb, peppercorn, cloves, and vanilla... There is a sense of coolness with its vibrant acidity and mid-palate juiciness. It simply needs time to unfold the magic." It is drinking beautifully now although will still cellar well for several years to come.
