The Wine
The brilliant 95pt Allegiance Wines Thomas James Pinot Gris is grown in a single vineyard 530m above sea level, high in the hills of the cool climate region of Tumbarumba, New South Wales. At the winery, the winemakers use this pristine, aromatic fruit to make two distinct wines. The rich, round and textured Pinot Gris is named after the family's son, Thomas James Cox. Showcasing a rich and full palate of fresh citrus, melon, apple and nashi pear. A balanced natural acidity runs to a moreish finish that is both clean and lingering. It won a rare Double Gold medal at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge, with the show judges calling it, "Deliciously juicy palate where vibrant freshness sets the tempo and establishes gorgeous aromatics honouring fruit. Very energetic finish for a mouth-watering wine".
