The Ashmead family, the clan behind mighty Elderton, shot to prominence after winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1993 for their flagship wine, ‘Command’ Shiraz. The estate’s mouthcoating Barossa reds have a legion of fans, including Robert Parker and Wine Spectator Magazine. This lavish Cabernet Shiraz Merlot (the winemaking team call it ‘a hidden gem’) is named in honour of the co-founder of Elderton, Lorraine Ashmead.
