Hungerford Hill Dalwood Vineyard Hunter Valley Chardonnay 2022

Grown along the banks of the Hunter River this Chardonnay hails from the oldest continually operating vineyard in Australia, Dalwood. First planted by George Wyndham in 1828 this vineyard is a piece of living history that continues in this wine. Toni Paterson, in the Halliday Wine Companion gives it 94pts and a Special Value star, and suggests you: "...serve in a large glass (preferably Chardonnay specific) and enjoy watching the wine open and evolve." The 2022 lures you in with spicy pineapple, peach and green mango aromas. A melding of tangy lemon and cashew nut flavours fill the palate, with crisp acidity giving a refreshing finish. Richness without high alcohol. "Light and bright straw yellow. Nectarine and reductive aromatics on the nose. Grapefruit pith, sea salt and struck flint notes run tightly bound through the core of the palate, ample power here with equal parts acidity to drive it.
