The Wine
“This now mature Shiraz comes from a single vineyard planted in 1865 near Auburn in the Clare Valley. Aromas of library book leather, spice and dark chocolate with a coating of mocha.” (Ray Jordan writes , giving it a 96pt score. Sam Kim is an even bigger fan: “This is totally seductive on the nose, showing rich fruit intensity, toasted spice, potpourri, cedar and dark chocolate notes, leading to a powerfully concentrated palate that's refined and seamless. Wonderfully framed by layers of silky tannins, finishing immensely complex and velvety. 97pts” (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit).
