Leeuwin Estate Art Series Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

When it comes to premium Australian wine sought by collectors here and overseas, there are a handful of names which get heads turning. The most obvious being Penfolds, the second being Leeuwin Estate. Officially classified as 'Outstanding' in Langton's benchmark classification of Australia's best wines, the 2016 vintage of the Art Series Cabernet is a wine worthy of such an accolade. The wine exhibits a deep core of dark-fruit focussed on blackcurrants, blueberries and dark cherries. It's sister wine, the Art Series Chardonnay won Halliday over with its 99pt win and the Cabernet wasn't far behind with a terrific 97pts, going to show this is a vintage not to be missed by any serious collector or wine lover.
