Ponting Mowbray Boy Tasmania Pinot Noir 2024

This fine Pinot Noir featuring fruit from Tasmania’s Coal River Valley is a delightful followup vintage to the 93pt 2022. It's one of an impressive range from the winery estatblished in 2020 by cricket legend Ricky Ponting (one of the State's most famous sons) and his wife Rianna. The wines are made by award-winning winemaking superstar Ben Riggs. The 2022 was described as: "...delightfully appealing on the nose with ripe cherry, cured meat, clove and spicy oak aromas, leading to a beautifully weighted palate offering juicy fruit flavours with savoury nuances. On Ricky’s first date with his future wife, Rianna, he bought a bottle of Leeuwin Estate’s Art series Chardonnay. They’ve now not only been married for 22 years but have set up a very serious wine business, working with winemaking veteran Ben Riggs and wine marketer David Krenich.
