Once SA's mainstay grape but for fortified wines, Grenache has become more and more popular in recent years, and not only in the Barossa, with a new generation of winemakers create fresh, super approachable modern styles. Australian winemakers are more prepared to let the grape speak for itself, and the tren away from big, powerful reds to more medium bodied styles has helped in this. This is very approachable and moreish.
