The Wine
Plush and silky cassis-rich Cabernet with a dash of red-berry Tempranillo – this is juicy, mouthfilling stuff. As the folk at Zonte’s Footstep like to say, they take their vineyards and their wines seriously, but not themselves. As per usual for Zonte’s Footstep, it’s a multi-medal winner too. “Open-fermented with cultured yeast, matured for 10-12 months in French oak (10% new). Disciplined winemaking minimises cost but highlights fruit quality in a medium- bodied wine with fresh cassis fruit and savoury accoutrements ... 94pts” (Halliday).
