d'Arenberg's The Dead Arm is true powerful, concentrated, age-worthy iconic Shiraz from McLaren Vale."Deep, dark, concentrated red/purple colour. The bouquet is tarry, meaty, powerful and ironstone-earthy, preserved plum, too. The palate is gutsy and full-bodied, rich and dense, with thick mouth-coating tannins, concentrated flavour and long persistence. The astringency is supported by generous flavour and the wine has long-term potential. Right now, it needs either a hearty steak meal or putting away in the cellar.
