The pig is on a roll! Recent vintages (the past four included) have all won at least one Gold - one even snagged a Trophy! This 2024 has maintained the tradition and picked up a Gold already. Once upon a time there was a brilliant, acclaimed McLaren Vale winemaker, (who chooses to remain nameless) who also kept pigs. A big black pig called Tanuki was his first. He loved Tanuki so much he named a delicious, brand new Shiraz in his honour and we all quickly found that customers and show judges loved The Black Pig as much as he did.’ Tanuki’s descendants still roam the winemaker’s paddocks today, while The Black Pig Shiraz has remained a constant bestseller ever since. Produced from hand-selected fruit from top McLaren Vale vineyards, The Black Pig Shiraz leaps from the glass with sumptuous, rich and ripe blackcurrant tones and vanilla snippets. Oozing lashings of cedar, ripe berries and hints of chocolate this stunning Shiraz is the kind of wine that can drink now with ease, or be laid down for another 6 or so years. Always a fan favourite, this vintage has already impressed with a Gold medal. Shiraz drinking perfection.
