Their vines are much older – the Widins are proud owners of the original Brokenback Vineyard established by the legendary Len Evans of Rothbury Estate fame over 40 years ago. Also worth noting, the 2018 was a near-perfect 9/10 vintage. A hallmark Hunter red that will always impress. “In many ways this is the flagship Leogate red... Strongly of the region, with a varnishy swathe of tannin galvanising scents of dark cherry, iodine, violet and bitter chocolate ... Some polished fresh leather, lingering across the tangy seams.
