Savour an impressive Great value Great Southern Chardonnay from 5 Red Star-rated West Cape Howe, with scores of (2pts and 94pts.
“Fermentation in new and old French barriques, mlf blocked. Generous of fruit, with baked peaches, honeydew melon, nectarine, green apple and honeysuckle. Equally, it's both slatey and racy, the acidity filigreed, leaf vein-like, detailed and precise. There's plenty going on here, with oak creaminess on show, nothing out of place. 94pts. Great Value.” (Katrina Butler, The Halliday Wine Companion).
For Ray Jordan: "The earlier ripening chardonnay in this warm vintage turned out very nicely, especially in Mount Barker. This one captures all the varietal characters of citrus, slightly melony notes and subtle stone fruit. The palate introduces a minerally, crunchy acidity that lifts and elevates the concentrated, rich fruit through to a long finish. There was no malolactic fermentation here, so it retains that vibrant freshness, which makes it such an ideal current drink. 92pts."
