Tyrrell's was established in the Hunter Valley in 1858 and is one of Australia's oldest and most renowned family winemaking estates. Headed up by fourth generation family member Bruce Tyrrell, and fifth generation winemaker Chris Tyrrell, it's home to some of Australia's most lauded wines.

Don’t head to Victoria! Even though this exclusive Vineyard Partner wine hails from Heathcote, when you get the extra special treatment that you are due as a visiting Vineyard Partner, it will be at their historic estate in NSW’s Hunter Valley. Nestled at the foot of the famous Brokenback Ranges, the estate oozes with history – it even still has the original ironbark slab hut that Edward Tyrrell built by hand in 1858. Taste some of their magnificent wines, get an insider’s tour of the winery, and hear some of the stories that have made the Tyrrell’s wines (and their winemakers) so famous.

Tyrrell’s is famous for its Hunter Valley wines but when we first worked with them on an exclusive wine, it was their Heathcote vineyards in Victoria that they were most excited to work with. Bruce Tyrrell is a particular champion of the region – he believes buying vineyards there was an absolute masterstroke. Indeed, in a time of expansion, Tyrrell’s bought several vineyards in top regions around Australia, before deciding to focus only on Hunter wines. They divested all vineyards outside of the Hunter – except the Heathcote ones. They were too good to give up. The vineyards enjoy a temperate climate with hot summer days followed by cool nights. Mineral-rich, ancient Cambrian soils help create the full-bodied, rich and textured reds that the region has become famous for. The Shiraz is particularly fine, showing exceptional intensity and fruit weight.
