Jim Barry Wines
Since 1959, the Barry family has helped shape South Australia's Clare Valley into one of the world's great wine regions, and the wines prove it with every sip.
About Jim Barry wines
Jim Barry was the first qualified winemaker in the Clare Valley, and after 22 years championing quality table wine at the Clarevale Co-operative, he and wife Nancy established their own winery in 1959. Built on carefully chosen vineyard sites that remain the backbone of the estate today, Jim Barry Wines has grown into one of Australia's most celebrated producers across three generations of the Barry family.

Meet the Winemakers
Peter Barry led the winery as managing director from 1985, expanding the estate's vineyard holdings across 17 sites in the Clare Valley and forging the celebrated winemaking partnership with Dr Ernst Loosen of Germany. His son Tom, named Young Winemaker of the Year, now leads winemaking, bringing a deep passion for Riesling shaped by vintages in the Mosel and experience at Yalumba and Shaw + Smith. Brother Sam manages the commercial side of the business, ensuring the family's wines reach wine lovers across Australia and beyond.

The Vineyard
Jim Barry Wines is one of the few Australian producers to grow every grape in every bottle from their own estate, across 17 vineyard locations totalling more than 320 hectares in the Clare Valley. The Armagh vineyard produces intensely concentrated Shiraz from north-facing red clay soils, while the elevated Lodge Hill delivers both benchmark Riesling and a deeply individual Shiraz. The Florita vineyard at Watervale, planted in 1962, is the source of one of Australia's most celebrated and age-worthy Rieslings.
Jim Barry Wines
From the benchmark Rieslings of the Clare Valley to one of Australia's greatest Shiraz, the Jim Barry range is a masterclass in what estate-grown fruit and three generations of passion can produce.
