Whether you go for the full comedy hat and beard combo, or just wear something vaguely green, St Patrick’s Day is a great excuse for a cocktail or two. So, round up your mates and get ready to shake, stir or just casually slosh a few ingredients into a glass.
From proper Irish classics to cheeky green numbers that look great on the table, these five easy cocktails will have you sorted.

How to make it:
- If you’re keen, salt the rim. Then fill the glass with ice.
- Shake everything else together.
- Strain into your glass.

Backyard parties, barbies and people who don’t want to mix drinks all night.

Strangely elegant. Surprisingly moreish.

- 125ml Guinness
How to make it:
- Fill half a flute with Guinness.
- Slowly top with sparkling wine.
- Admire the drama.
Good for:
Showing off without looking like you’re trying.

Baby Guinness

There you have it: five easy cocktails to keep the spirit of St Patrick’s Day flowing. And if a couple stay on your regular drinks list … well, we fully support that.

Not a spirit seeker? Go "Green" with Wine
If you’d rather skip the shaker and stick to the vine, you can still stay on-theme. St Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to pour a glass of something crisp, zesty, and "green."
Look for wines with vibrant acidity and "green" flavour profiles - think the distinct green-gold glint and citrus zest of a Picpoul, the light, spritzy freshness of a Portuguese Vinho Verde, the lime-zest zing of a Clare Valley Riesling, or the mown-grass notes of a Sauvignon Blanc.
