The 97pt, multi-Gold-medal Frank Potts Cabernet Blend easily demonstrates why Bleasdale has earned the Halliday Wine Companion's top gong of 'Winery of the Year 2024'. After purchasing land on the Bremer River, Frank Potts himself cleared it of red gums, planted vineyards, and then used the timber to build his winery. Six generations on, it is his work ethic and enduring legacy that drives everyone at Bleasdale. It has been an exceptional few years for Bleasdale, after winning two of the Australian wine industry's most coveted trophies, Paul Hotker being awarded the Halliday 'Winemaker of the Year 2018', and then the Winery of the Year crown in '24. Their flagship Cabernet Blend is layered and complex with red berry and darker fruit aromas. Only produced in great vintages, the highly regarded 95pt Blue Pyrenees Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon is dedicated to the late Colin Richardson, a larger than life character who lived, breathed and loved wine. He was the fine wine director at Blue Pyrenees and travelled around the country as a national wine judge and educator. This 2018 boasts a remarkable 97pt score from Jeni Port in The Halliday Wine Companion, who praises its “…incredible level of concentration and total integration. It's a seamless, impressive performance. Ripe, yet well composed in blackberries, briar, a sweet dry leafy thread and spice, notably dressed in vanillin oak. Layers of fine Cabernet tannins roam the palate, elegant in shape and bringing with them a long, smooth, fresh finish. The late Colin Richardson would have been proud.”

“Ink black and impenetrable in the glass." says Stuart Knox in The Real Review, praising its colour, complexity, intensity and concentraion and giiving it 96pts. Halliday talks of the colour too, calling it “Dense, opaque, old-blood liquid that stains the glass as it is swirled – as with the ’20 a year ago. There are untold layers of very black fruits here, plus a dab of chocolate borrowed from McLaren Vale. 95pts". (James Halliday). This remarkable red also has six Golds and a Double Gold.
