Though it was Dr. William Angove who founded the company in 1886 in South Australia after emigrating from Cornwall in the UK, it was his son Thomas ‘Skipper Carlyon Angove who cemented Angove Family Winemakers as a significant player in the Australian wine scene with both fortified and table wines. They still make gin, and of course their famous St Agnes brandies today. The new generation continue to pioneer modern styles of wine with a focus on sustainability.
