Mudgee is in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia, 160 miles northwest of Sydney. Tucked behind the Blue Mountains, the Mudgee wine region is surrounded by hills and boasts some of Australia’s highest vineyards. And the name? ‘Mudgee’ is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘nest in the hills’.
