The Yarra Valley is most famous for producing restrained, elegant wines – a hallmark of its cool-climate conditions.

•  Pinot Noir – Delicate and beautifully perfumed, with bright red fruit and a silky texture.
• Chardonnay – Refined and elegant, with crisp Yarra Valley acidity, stone fruit flavours and fresh citrus. Subtle oak ageing often lends vanilla notes and a creamy texture.
• Syrah – Lighter and fresher than Shiraz produced in other Australian regions. Typically, medium-bodied, with red and purple fruits, spice and soft earthy notes.
• Bordeaux Blends – Combining Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the occasional splash of Petit Verdot, Yarra Valley Bordeaux blends are balanced and complex, offering vibrant red and black fruit flavours.
• Sparkling wine – Made using the traditional method (also used to make Champagne), Yarra Valley sparkling wines typically blend Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. Expect fine bubbles, bright acidity and a creamy texture.

You’ll find the Yarra Valley wine region in the state of Victoria, just an hour’s drive from the vibrant city of Melbourne. It’s one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious wine regions, with vineyards first planted in the 1830s. The region is particularly known for producing fine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that can rival those from Burgundy.

Thanks to its proximity to the city, the Yarra Valley has become a haven for tourism – celebrated for its beautiful countryside, exceptional food scene, and of course, premium wines.
